Интервью с автором от Affect3D / Feature Artist Interview: Naama
Let’s start with some basics. How did you get into 3DX? Do you also do 2D art? Like any good story, my personal story as 3DX artist started half a year ago with a joke. I’m a huge fan of RPG games in general and at that point in my life I was running a campaign I made for me and my husband that was set up in the World of Darkness universe. I pay a lot of attention to details of my characters, both in their nature and appearance and I wanted for him, as a player, to see and feel some characters, scenes, plot twists as I see them. So I set my eyes upon 3D programs. After spending quite some time with self-education, trying different programs, and watching endless videos on how everything works, I’ve settled with Daz Studio. For more than a year I was just making artwork for my game, never thinking about showing it to anyone unrelated to it. Once I was making some kind of sketch with absolutely naked character, thinking about what kind of outfit I would like her to wear or in what kind of environment I would like to set up the scene. That’s when my husband joked about character looking better without clothes. I told him that there are sites where people share such content and he asked me why don’t I try to make something erotic? We never thought it might become a full time job and it wasn’t something we took seriously. Oh well, you never know. Now I’m a Featured Artist. What do you like most about working with 3DX? Also, what programs are you using right now? What I like most about 3DX is my ability to recreate any sexual fantasies even if it involves monsters or tentacles, dickgirls and group sex. I use Daz Studio for creating all of my content, 3D Coat for extra special details, Photoshop for post work. Do you have any long term goals for your 3DX artwork? Yes, I’m perfectionist and I see a lot of things in my works that needs improving. Most of the time it’s the model limitations that drive me crazy. It motivates me to expand my knowledge in 3D because I want to create more beautiful hair, dynamic clothes and less ridiculous looking monsters, etc. So now, when I have more spare time, I’m learning to create things in 3D from scratch. Your sets always have exquisite settings, my favorite being the new stained glass windows in Artifact. How long do you usually spend on the background vs the main image? Is it difficult to keep up with a difficult setting throughout an image set? It is very difficult to work in complex scene with many little details, because the same scene might look good under one angle and absolutely horrible under another. It takes for me a whole day of work just to create a scene and lightning. I have to think in advance where exactly characters will be, in what position, under what camera angle so that objects won’t get in the way, look out of place, etc. Sometimes I have to make two renders of the same scene and then work with them in Photoshop so they look nice. It’s a lot of work. Also, it is very hard for my PC to handle complex scenes. I spend a lot of time optimizing the scene, figuring what I can remove, what textures I can resize so in the end I wouldn’t end up in a blank environment or with ugly low resolution textures. Some might ask why would you spent so much time for this, people are watching 3DX for the action. It’s just my personal preference, I like my characters to be more or less natural, have story, even if it’s simple, to have a scene with lots of details. That’s what makes 3DX art for me an actual art. You are one of the few artists on Affect3D to feature tentacles and I love that about your work. Do you have a love for hentai? Or is it something else that makes tentacle sets irresistible? I do love hentai but I can’t say I draw much of inspiration out of it. Sex with tentacles for me is a sex with a monster which is my favorite kind of fetish. You said that Monsters are your favorite fetish. Do you have other favorites? I like rough, almost BDSM-level action but I’m not making it because I don’t really know where the thin line is that I can’t cross to make it a release. I also realize that not so many people are into that kind of stuff so I prefer to leave such things for commissions. There are almost always two men in your sets. What appeals to you about creating that kind of group sex atmosphere in your work? Some may find it weird but for me it is a bit similar to the sex with tentacles. To put it simply I’d like to think that more penises – more pleasure for my girls. If sex with one partner is something more personal, than group sex is closer to our animal instincts. This wild passionate atmosphere of freedom and ability just to have pleasure makes the creation of such sets more exciting for me. As a woman, what would you like to see more of in 3DX? Is there anything you produce specifically so there’s more of it in the world?
As a woman I would like to see as much attention focused on creation of male characters as on a female ones. I want males in 3DX not to be just a pair of genitals but developed and detailed charismatic characters. I would like to see them more manly I suppose, not just like some sort of elven prince (unless it’s on purpose). I’m trying to make male characters as diverse as females because it helps me to feel the story and the moment more deeply. Sex scenes become more personal when you look at the imperfect but charismatic and strong character. But that’s just my opinion. I really love the diversity of your women. What inspires that? My inner-man and woman in real life I suppose. Also, when I work long enough with one of the characters I grow sort of bored of it. I need a breath of fresh air. That drives me into creating something new. In my real life things are changing too, I find new stuff that catches my attention and sometimes I’m doing stuff based on that new material, developing my own ideas. The only thing that makes my characters alike is that I like them curvy 😄 Let’s talk about the Lucky Bandits series for a bit. You just released Lucky Bandits 4 on the Affect3D Store, which would make it your longest running series. What’s your favorite part of working on it? My favorite part actually didn’t make it in final release. For the second part of the series I’ve created a real bandit camp with stables, cooking area, insides of the old stronghold they occupied and much more. But then came the reality of the restrictions of my PC and time I had to create this set. I simplified most of the stuff there. The main story as well was cut because I wasn’t sure if people would enjoy me creating that long of a series. Some parts of it became a whole new sets, some I settled for later. Also the diversity of the characters was really enjoyable to work with. They were so different from each other and I liked to create interaction between them. We learn a little more about your character’s personalities each time we see them. The little elf from the first Lucky Bandits learns in the third episode that jealousy really turns her on. Do you have set personalities for your characters with likes and dislikes? Before creating an appearance of characters I think a lot about their personalities. I like them to be different from one another, and that helps me to set up the whole story around them. I like to see how they react differently on situations I put them in. For example, when I made first Lucky Bandits, the girl there was really shy and inexperienced. The bandits helped her to find what she really likes, find out more about herself. When I needed a second character for the next part of the story I created an exact opposite of her personality. And then I based another story on their relationship with each other. What are you planning next, especially now that your done with Lucky Bandits? Are we going to get those sci-fi models you mentioned? I have scheduled my releases for a half a year in advance. There will be two more big releases in a fantasy setting and then a sci-fi genre, if nothing changes. I’m planning to bring more diversity in my future works. Do you have anything you’d like to say to the fans of your work? I want to thank everyone who supports me in any way they can. For many years I’ve been struggling with finding what I want to do in my life and your support helps me to do what I really enjoy and like to do on day to day basis. It is actually amazing. Thank you very much for this opportunity. Also I would like to say that more works are on the way, I have many plans for the future, more quality content that I hope you would like. Also I’m planning to be more open socially and start some sort of dialog with my fans and the Affect3D Forum will be a place for such interactions.
