Описание: A rural earthquake damages an ancient shrine containing demons bound genie style and before you can say The Prophecy there's something evil in the water waiting for the inevitable group of mixed gender campers to arrive. That they do, but only this time, it's not from Mitomo. I can't believe the writers had the forethought to assume that Mitomo closed down from scandal or government decree! Maybe the exterior location from the first movie saw the finished project and banned the production company. Most likely they just forgot the name and made something up. That's about all linking this and the previous movie. While one of the female teachers looks rather like the survivor of the first installment, no mention is made of the outcome. As we're scratching our heads with the narrative flow at this point, we get a flashback to years before. I still don't know why this part wasn't included in the first film, unless, of course, they hadn't thought of it yet. So apparently there is public knowledge of tentacle monsters, but nobody has put any thought to survival techniques/police procedures to minimize it all. I really stopped thinking about it at this point.
Now the demon force has infused the local stream and water sources but it might have been typhus for all the care the campers put into checking for local bacteria. As the sun sets, couples pair off and the effects budget gets tapped for fog and hilarity. This episode most closely resembles the "spam in a can" genre extolled by Joe Bob Briggs and after seemingly interminable forest cavorting I suppose I should cut my losses and rejoice that at no point does a hockey masked killer appear. The toxic water angle compared poorly to Cabin Fever in my mind and was a major distraction. You might suspect that no good use is made of the forest locations, and you'd be right. Some chasing, and "we're miles from rescue" whining occurs, but all for nothing, because incredibly an ambulance actually shows up to help. Not that it matters. Eventually things are put to rights, but in a program like this, there must be a "boo" to at least set up a sequel and this brings us to the next episode.
